The Protective Effects of Beta Glucan Against Experimental Renal Ischemia Reperfusion Injury

نویسندگان

چکیده

Aim: This study aims to investigate the possible protective effects of beta-glucan against oxidative stress caused by ischemia and reperfusion injury in kidney tissue. Methods: In study, 30 male Wistar albino rats weighing 300-350g were used (n=10). Rats randomly grouped into three groups Sham control, group (IR), + beta glucan (IR BG). had left nephrectomy, right taken for histopathologic biochemical examination. After nephrectomy IR group, procedure was applied 45 minutes via nontraumatic microvascular clamp, then 60 kidney. IR+BG administered 100 mg/kg gastric gavage 10 days. Reperfusion after under anesthesia. Results: As a result examination MDA values showed significant increase compared (p<0,05). there decrease Tissue MPO whereas not decrease. Also, difference tissue catalase levels. GSH found Less damage has been revealed examination. Conclusion: All these data show that may have an antioxidant effect on renal injury.

Melatonin Protective Effects against Liver Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury

Hepatic ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) is a common phenomenon during liver surgery, transplantation, infection and trauma which results in damage and necrosis of the hepatic tissue through different pathways. Mechanisms involved in I/R damage are very intricate and cover several aspects. Several factors are involved in I/R-induced damages; briefly, decrease in sinusoidal perfusion and ATP generatio...

Protective Effects of Hydrocortisone, Vitamin C and E Alone or in Combination against Renal Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury in Rat

Background: Renal ischemia reperfusion injury may occur in a variety of clinical situations, following a transient drop in total or regional blood flow to the kidney. This study was performed to investigate the protective effects of different antioxidants such as vitamin C, vitamin E, hydrocortisone and combination of these agents against experimental renal ischemia-reperfusion injury....

Protective Effects of HDL Against Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury

Several lines of evidence suggest that, besides being a strong independent predictor of the occurrence of primary coronary events, a low plasma high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol level is also associated with short- and long-term unfavorable prognosis in patients, who have recovered from a myocardial infarction, suggesting a direct detrimental effect of low HDL on post-ischemic myocardi...

The protective activity of noscapine on renal ischemia–reperfusion injury in male Wistar rat

Objective(s):Bradykinin is a part of the kinin-kallikreinsystem which is involved in ischemia-reperfusion injury via B1 and B2 receptors.Noscapine is a non-competitive antagonist of bradykinin receptors. Noscapine has been reported to to be able to protect some organs against ischemia-reperfusion injury but its effect on renal ischemia-reperfusion injury (RIR) in rats is unknown. Therefore, the...
